There are tons of great movies to watch. But it can be difficult to know which are worth watching, and which are not. In this article, we list 18 great movies worth watching! Some of which you may not have heard of, but which are definitely worth watching.

The Lobster

Colin Farrell plays a man who lives in a world where it is forbidden not to be in a relationship. If you become single you have 45 days to find a new partner, otherwise, you will be transformed into an animal. Strange, sad and romantic.

The Sweetest Thing

This movie was groundbreaking when it came out because there were basically no American commercial comedies written by and for women back then. Extremely well-written and funny. Unfortunately with a very classic ending – had it been made today, it probably would have been written differently. Christina Applegate, Selma Blair, and Cameron Diaz are a greatness trio.

The Fifth Element

Cult-explained science fiction that takes place during the 2200s when it suddenly becomes a taxi driver’s responsibility to save the planet from an alien attack.

Crazy Stupid Love

Ryan Gosling plays the player who will help a new man into the singles life. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling’s chemistry is electric and Gosling is so stylish that you never die again and never wake up again.

Fun with Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph and others about two friends, a bridal shower, a wedding and trying to find the right life.

Forrest Gump

A film classic about Forrest Gump who accidentally ends up in the center of world news throughout his life. So sad too. Life is like a box of chocolates.

Mean Girls

Last decade’s best movies perhaps? About status, power and revenge in a high school, written by Tina Fey.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

One of the best movies of the last decade. Kate Winsley and Jim Carrey play a couple who, after a break, test a new kind of technology where they completely erase the memory of their relationship. Jim Carrey’s character regrets in the middle of the process. So sad and worldly.

Easy A

Emma Stone’s breakthrough role and is based on the book Scarlet Letter which came out in the middle of the nineteenth century. Is about Olive spreading a reputation about himself in his high school which then starts rolling at a rate out of control.

Stranger Than Fiction

This movie is about a man who lives an incredibly square life and one day begins to hear a voice that says everything he does, and he begins to wonder if he is in a book about his own life.

A Netflix-produced movie that came out last year with Tilda Swinton and Jake Gyllenhaal and others. It is about a company that has created a genetically engineered super pig to stop starvation. But what happens when you become friends with the piglet?
Note, not really suitable for younger people, it gets very dark in the third part of the movie.

Blue Jay

Jim and Amanda bump into each other in a grocery store. They have not met in twenty years but were each other’s first great love in high school. The film takes place during a night when they hang. Very cozy-indie.

Pixar’s best movie maybe? So nice about the friendship between a lonely old man, a dog and a scout going on an adventure in a flying house.

An Education

It takes place in the sixties and is about a teenage girl who is seduced by a twice as old man and starts hanging in his crowd. Carey Mulligan’s breakthrough role.

Hello, My Name Is Doris

About Doris who falls in love with a young man who starts her job. For the first time in decades, she falls in love. Like all newly in love, she begins to gather all the information she finds to get closer to him. So fun and moving.

Catch me if you can

Based on a true story of one of America’s most famous con men, who has been fooling people for money, forging papers, and lying about his profession. Very exciting.

The Truman Show

A great movie about a man who lives in a TV series without knowing it. All the people around him are actors except him. He is an involuntary influencer type!
